Progressive Bytes ("we," "our," or "us") operates the BudgetBear mobile application and the companion website at www.progressive-bytes.com/budgetbear/gb/ (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy applies to both the app and the website.

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service. We are committed to protecting your privacy through Privacy by Design.

LEGAL BASIS FOR DATA PROCESSING (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are based in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for "processing" your data (which occurs exclusively locally on your device) is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR / UK GDPR: Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract (providing the savings-tracking functionality you requested).

For website server logs, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / UK GDPR: Legitimate interests in operating a functioning, secure website.

THE APP — INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We do not collect any personal information.

BudgetBear is designed to work entirely on your device without requiring any personal data collection, an account, or a server. There is no sync of any kind — your data never leaves your device. Your projects, savings goals, payment information, and app settings belong to you alone.

Data Stored Locally:

• Projects Data: All projects, savings goals, payment information, and related data you create are stored locally on your device.
• App Settings: All app settings are stored locally on your device.

THE WEBSITE — INFORMATION WE COLLECT

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages and consists of a handful of static HTML pages and stylesheets — there is no database, no server-side code, and no user accounts of any kind. We do not use cookies, trackers, or analytics. We do not collect any personal information from visitors.

As with any web server, GitHub Pages automatically records basic server logs when you visit this site. These logs may include your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This data is retained by GitHub in accordance with their Privacy Statement. We do not have access to individual visitor logs and do not use this data for tracking or profiling.

DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not share, sell, or analyse your data.

Because all app data remains on your device and we do not collect personal information, no data is shared with third parties, advertisers, or analytics providers.

DATA SECURITY & RETENTION

Your projects data and app settings are stored securely on your device using standard iOS, iPadOS, and macOS security measures. Data remains on your device until you delete the app or manually remove the content.

YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Under data protection laws, you have rights including access, rectification, and erasure. Since we have no access to your data, you can exercise these rights directly yourself:

• Right to Access/Portability: You can view all your data directly within the app.
• Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can delete individual items or the entire app to wipe all data permanently.
• Right to Object: You can halt all data processing at any time by simply closing or deleting the app.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

BudgetBear does not integrate with any custom third-party tracking, advertising, or analytics SDKs, and does not use iCloud or any other sync service. However, because the app is distributed via Apple's App Store, the following native service applies:

• App Store Telemetry: Apple may share anonymised, aggregated crash reports and usage statistics with us if you have authorised Apple to share this information with developers in your device's privacy settings. This data cannot be used by us to identify individual users.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

BudgetBear is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region). Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, regardless of age, no data about children is collected, stored, or transmitted.

DISCLAIMER — FINANCIAL INFORMATION PROVIDED "AS IS"

BudgetBear is a personal savings-planning tool provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Any calculations, timelines, or projections shown in the app are estimates for personal organisational purposes only and do not constitute financial, tax, or investment advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Progressive Bytes shall not be liable for any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the app, or for any decisions made or actions taken in reliance on information the app provides.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Since the app does not collect contact information, we are unable to notify you directly of changes — we encourage you to review this page periodically.
